The Calm Before The Storm…

The seaside town of Menton is getting ready for one of it’s biggest events – La Fête du Citron…. The installations of the giant intricate lemon and orange sculptures, Menton is preparing for a grand celebration.

Nestled in Menton, La Fête du Citron displays vibrant citrus structures/exhibits and brings the local community together. I look forward to capturing the festival's essence—joy, creativity, and Menton's cultural richness.

Aside from the dazzling parades to come… today I was intrigued by the festival's setup. Colourful carnival trucks will roam the streets, and seating areas will accommodate the crowds, providing them excellent views of the citrus spectacle.

What struck me most was how the festival preparations seamlessly blended with the town's everyday life. People went about their routines amidst the festival constructions, creating a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere.

I aim to visit this wonderful festival in a few weeks and hopefully capture the lively spirit of La Fête du Citron and show the town's citrus legacy which is a deep-rooted part of Menton.
